3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that provides financial and lifetime support and assistance to Post-9/11 Veterans and Veterans of 3rd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment and their families. Since 2001, 3rd Battalion 8th Marines (3/8) has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, suffering 37 Killed-In-Action (KIAs) and hundreds of casualties. As these and other Post-9/11 veterans have returned home, they have been dealing with physical, mental, and emotional wounds, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). We want to ensure that each of our veterans and their families have the resources they need for their recovery and transition back to their civilian lives.
We offer a variety of services, which are tailored to the individual need of each veteran. Over the past years, we have been able to assist and provide over $100,000 in grants and services to veterans and their families. These services include, but are not limited to: Emergency Financial Relief Assistance, which can be used for utility bills, funeral costs, or other emergency expenses; Medical Expenses Relief Assistance; Sponsorship of Unit Reunions; which provided a support and healing environment for veterans dealing with PTSD and other injuries: Legal Expenses and Advice Assistance; provide veterans with trained PTSD Service Dogs; and Connect Veterans to a Larger Veterans Service Network.
Please donate to 3/8 OIF & OEF Veterans and assist our heroes in need.
In 2008, our founder, Bart Skiba, started the 3/8 Weapons Company Reunion for those who served in Fallujah and Ramadi, Iraq. These reunions quickly grew and assisted these Marines to combat PTSD, and other injuries, through closure, support, and healing environment, which allowed us to recognize those who needed support, whether it was emotional, physical, or financial. Many of our veterans expressed their feeling about these reunions to Bart and attributed their recovery to these reunions, which showed them they were not suffering alone. Since then, we have expanded our assistance to other 3/8 Companies. We wish to continue Bart’s tradition and provide financial assistance in reuniting 3/8 companies on an annual basis. Please help our goal and contribute to helping reunite these veterans.
